On the road to Punk, turning at the intersection of Pop and Hip-Hop you hear tires screech before shattered glass and twisted metal rain down on you. You turn to peer through your cracked window to see you’ve been t-boned by Sydney outfit, BESTIES. Since their inception in 2022 the four piece have fed themselves on a steady diet of curiosity and persistence that’s lead to a sold out national tour supporting Between You & Me, collaborations with Aria nominated artists, triple j rotation adds and international support slots up. Helmed by producer Nat J. Sherwood (Stand Atlantic, Yours Truly) and flanked by vocalist Max Pasalic, drummer Brenton Rakebrandt & guitarist James Venites – the outfit saw early success thanks to their winning entry in Triple J’s DIYSupergroup competition, receiving on air praise from Holly Humberstone and triple j presenters. They would go on to land multiple main rotation adds before they played a sold-out show supporting US pop-star, Maggie Lindemann Following, Between You & Me hand-picked BESTIES to go on a sold-out nationwide tour as well as SXSW inviting them to perform 3 showcases alongside artists like Go-Jo and KiLLOWEN. Fresh from the release of their second EP something4now they went out to support the US’ LiL Lotus as well as their own debut headline show at Sydney’s iconic Lansdowne Hotel. Alongside live performances they collaborated with Sydney rapper Phi11a penning and featuring on the lead single for his debut album.
